Twice Supreme Champion New Forest exhibit at Melbourne Royal
First foal to Forestway Ascot
I made the difficult decision to have "Prem" euthanized when she could no longer enjoy her bucket of pellets and suddenly lost weight.
At the age of 30 she had a very long, happy and productive life.
She developed Cushings Disease at the age of 25 but never suffered from laminitis as a result.
She gave great joy to 3 generations of our family and her 18 foals live on as her legacy.
No other New Forest mare has been twice awarded Supreme Champion New Forest exhibit at Royal show standard.
Prem was a delight to break in and really seemed to enjoy going for a ride.
She was very free moving right up to the end of her saddle days, when Rosie Blackwood competed on her at Benalla pony club.
Our stud still retains two of her filly foals, Forestway Another Edition and Forestway Manhatten, both very big at 14.2hh.
We have just weaned a large colt foal from Edi (by Bain Park Shiraz), hence a double cross to Forestway Royal Ascot and Manhatten is excelling at open show jumping under the guidance of Narelle McFee.
